The Best Way to Support Ukraine
You can do more than wave a flag and use a hashtag.
As I was looking at the taskbar on the top of my laptop, I noticed something odd. It was some sort of mark, oh wait, is that? Yes, that’s the Ukrainian flag that CleanMyMac has added into their symbol. The founder and CEO Oleksandr Kosovan is Ukrainian, the company is based there, servicing people all around the world.
In 2022, this is where we are. Just like in 2020 after George Floyd and all the Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests, if you are a company, you have decided that you need to make it clear you support whatever it is that everyone else is supporting. If you don’t, then you are afraid of being canceled. I support everyone who is supporting Ukraine. The invasion by Russia is deplorable and every sanction, boycott, shunning, banning of, whatever it is people and companies want to do to Russia is fine with me. However, just like in 2020. I don’t need everyone to let me know that they support Ukraine. Can’t we just assume that we are against Putin and Russia right now?
I know what happens when you assume, thank you grade school humor. Seriously though, are we really at the point when we have to do these grand gestures of, we support this or that? We can support Ukraine without saying that we are supporting Ukraine. The best way that comes to mind is…
